Stefanie Ruland
Position:Trainer
Biography:
Stefanie began her yoga journey in 2007 when she attended her first Ashtanga class with teacher, John Meredith at Onlyoga in Atlanta, Ga. Her introduction to yoga was the beginning of a significant transformation extending beyond asanas. She became a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner . At the time, she was working a corporate job in a high profile role with the pace, stress, and responsibility that provided ample opportunity to exercise the principals of yoga. She loved what she was doing (sales training), but needed an outlet to deal with stress, anxiety and life in general…yoga did just that for her. Stefanie loves yoga and everything about it: the physical practice, the grounding, the challenge and the comfort, the way it focuses everything on the present, bringing together body, mind, and spirit. Stefanie came to the realization that she no longer wished to climb the corporate ladder, but instead, felt the call to teach others how to unlock happiness through their own yoga practice. She completed her RYT 200 hr teacher training under the watchful eye of Ally Ford at White Orchid Yoga. Stefanie believes her life has truly been transformed and enlivened by her experiences in the training program. Through practice, Stefanie believes passionately that yoga reveals one’s true nature and purpose for being (dharma). As a teacher, she strives to cultivate and nurture an experience for each and every student. Her classes focus on alignment, strength, grace, and detoxifying the body while synchronizing mind with movement, breath, and energy! Anatomical awareness and alignment act as the foundation for her teaching, as well as personal practice. The asana sequences are vigorous and her goal is for students to find a balance of “ease and effort” or Sthira Sukham each time they step on the mat. She is grateful that she can teach and share her love and appreciation for yoga with others.Stefanie believes Pattabhi Jois’s words “practice, practice, practice and all is coming.”
